View true ecological disasters of the Black Sea, my vision and insight on cleaning and prevention the pollution.

Oil slicks and chemical runoff near coastal infrastructure have poisoned water and sediment, threatening fish stocks and public health. I propose deploying compact, AI-powered skimmers that identify and separate waste types in real-time—oil, plastics, or organic matter—making shoreline cleanup faster and more efficient.

Runoff from war-damaged industrial sites has led to the buildup of mercury, lead, and cadmium in seabed sediments. I envision the use of mobile electrochemical filtration units near hotspots to extract these pollutants directly from sediment layers. For me, restoration starts beneath the surface—quiet, precise, and long-term.

Explosions near harbors and industrial zones have released unknown compounds into the sea. My proposed solution is to integrate satellite data with autonomous underwater drones to detect early chemical shifts and map “hot zones” in real-time. Healing the sea, to me, means protecting it even when damage can’t yet be seen.

Tides push enormous amounts of plastic debris onto Odesa’s beaches, disrupting ecosystems and creating unsafe conditions for wildlife and people. Looking outside, I see a coastline that needs protection. Looking inside, I know that automation should serve awareness—not replace it.

Discarded fishing gear continues to trap marine animals long after being lost. I want to collaborate with coastal communities and divers to implement a recovery and recycling program, tagging nets with GPS identifiers and offering incentives for returning them.

Excessive nutrients entering the Black Sea are fueling toxic algae blooms that lower oxygen levels and suffocate marine life. My vision is to introduce smart aeration systems. Combined with floating reed islands that absorb nitrogen and phosphorus, this hybrid method can naturally restore balance.
